PROTECTING

ACT is the first and only registered trade association of Pakistan that unites and represents actors affiliated with television, film, theatre and radio. The overall vision and objective of ACT is to promote, protect, enhance, develop and look after the trade interests of its members nationwide. For this purpose, ACT sets itself to the following responsibilities towards it's talented and valued members.

• Lobbying for the interests of the members by making in roads into governmental authorities and other trade partners such as PEMRA, PTA, PBA, UPA, PFPA, DGP, SWAP, PREDA, AAP, FPCCI as well as international guilds of the performing arts.

• Lobbying with all registered trade partner associations to formulate and implement standard operating procedures for working actors.

• Represent the Pakistani acting fraternity at national & international forums as a collective body at international awards, events, conferences and other relevant forums.

• Create awareness amongst ACT members about their rights in the trade and develop standardized agreements based on members feedback and needs to help establish a better working environment for all. 

• Arbitrate between members and trade partners to reduce and resolve professional conflicts quickly.

• Activate multiple group insurance policies to allow members to enjoy coverage of health, life & disability cover at low cost group premium rates.

• Provide verification letters for the purpose of travel, jobs, etc that helps facilitate members with formalities.

• Raise funds for the ACT welfare committee to be able to support and assist fellow ACT members during their hour of need.

• Acknowledge the service of senior members of the community by recognizing them as ACT ICONS.

• Provide members with benefit partner privileges that help them reduce costs on certain neccessary services such as dental care, skin care, hair care.

• Advise members on legal as well as taxation matters to facilitate them on such matters related to their professional needs.

• Members directory service maintained on the official ACT website to facilitate trade partners in their casting needs. Members can use this service as their calling card as well.

• Host the ACT annual awards to recognize trade partners such as networks, production houses, directors, writers, technicians & production teams for their efforts on our entertainment projects.

• Develop community support to grow together as a stronger entity to stand together for the actor's professional rights.
